ZOMBOID SERVER RULES
Please read through the rules before joining!
Please take the time to read through our list of rules, these are here to protect and aid both our players and our admins from unruly and unjust actions imposed upon and from both parties. Use the section below to quickly navigate this page.

1
Keep communications in character, in game
All communication RP related are to be kept in-game. We advise players to stay in character as much as possible to not break immersion. Occasional OOC chatter is fine when nothing of importance is happening.
2
Enjoy yourselves! You're here to have fun
Make friends and have fun. The entire reason the Discord and PICTI Game Servers were created is to build a community in which everyone can enjoy their experience. Don't ruin it for everyone else.
3
Request what you need from admins
Requests can be made to admins by submitting a support ticket. Players can request PVE zones, language books, large RP events (going to war), small RP events ("building and fixing" a radio tower to talk to the outside world), etc. So long as its within reason and feasible, admins can help.
4
Back up your claims with photo and video
If you suspect someone behaving unsportsmanlike (trolling/griefing), please submit video and photographic proof to an admin with your concern.
5
Remain In Character
Please remain in character as much as possible. Use the radios and channels to speak long distance to other players. Use the Discord Gaming VC only when in-game has issues or to generally hang out.
6
Off limit locations for Safehousing
Locations off-limits to becoming safehouses: Secret Laboratory, Radio Station outside of Riverside, Military Bases, Unnamed Fort east of Louisville.
7
Add your IC Name to your profile
You must add your character name to your name in Discord and here on the website. If your discord/website name already is your character name, there is no need to change.
8
Do not hoard
You are allowed to stock up food and weapons. Hoarding all loot however will be cause for a valid raid and or hoard inbound to your location.
1
What is IC, stays IC
Factionalism is a large portion of the story. Please do not let it get to your head and begin to hate players solely because they are playing a character that is supposed to be evil. Do not be vile outside of the server or be cryptic, threatening, or overall a poor sportsman because of something in game.
2
Use in-game communications
Use local voip and chat. /me will display an action, /looc will put your text in ( ) for when speaking out of character, /name will set your character name and display name. More help can be found on Buffy's Modpage.
3
Personal vehicles are protected
If there is a personal vehicle you own. LOCK YOUR DOORS. Leave a note inside your glove compartment so other friends/faction members know not to take it. You are not allowed to steal from, commit grand theft of, or deconstruct someone's personal vehicle without a ticket submitted.
4
Do not roleplay underaged
Player characters are not to be under the age of 18.
5
Use appropriate character names
Please use your character's name or an appropriate name for the world. "Spike", "Cherry", "Fibble" are still perfectly fine names. Inappropriate or celebrity names are not tolerated and will be changed to "Bob" when caught.
6
Value your in-game life
Pick your fights. Value the life your character has.
7
Be mindful of others
Some players internet connections are slow, please give them time to respond if they have to use text over voice or are generally slow to respond.
8
Use voice when possible
Please use voice and Push-to-Talk whenever possible. It is easier to respond to and lowers the risk of a zombie sneaking up to you.
9
Safehouses can be claimed by all
Everyone can claim a safehouse. Safehouses can be expanded upon approval of request when a ticket is submitted.
10
Group size determines safehouse size
Larger buildings housing few players may result in higher hoard chances or denial of safehouse. Size of safehouse will be at the discretion of the administration team.
( 1 player cannot safehouse the entire mall in Louisville )
11
LOCK YOUR DOORS
Not just for vehicles, but for buildings and doors you use/create. If you do not have a key for a building you have squatted in, you may request for one from a "locksmith"(admin).
12
Limited ERP is allowed within reason
ERP is allowed when Xochi is not live on Twitch. Mods will respect your privacy and leave you be while the event takes place and if other players come into the vicinity, the event must cease. The event is not allowed in public places. Hugging and kissing are not ERP and are allowed in public places.
13
Languages can be supplied by admins
If your character should know a specific language, you can submit a request to learn the language and or forget another.
1
PVP is perma, KOS is not
Open wilderness: PVP will remain on indefinitely. This does not mean that players can go killing however they want. If you make a mistake and jokingly stab your friend, you and them will suffer the consequences of your actions.
2
Have reasoning behind your actions
Have good reasoning behind attacking someone. KOS IS NOT TOLERATED. Players killed, unless for plot reasons, will be "critically injured" and returned to their faction/a medic to "recover".
3
Factions at war can fight whenever
Factions are allowed to fight one another outside of events. However there may be times that factions and players may need to work together. Simply be mindful of where you wage war.
4
Everything must be ticketed
For raiding, stealing, destroying player owned items or structures, you need to open a ticket and wait for approval from the moderators. Preplanning and reasons may be required.
5
React IC and accordingly
If someone is aiming a gun at you, you must react appropriately. While the games mechanics may let you run away or fight back, your character would be scared and or tense (if desensitized) and must deal with that situation accordingly. Mexican Standoffs may occur and it is your job to deescalate the situation as best as possible.
6
Canonical killing requires a ticket
If you want to kill off a character. You must submit a ticket with the reasoning and other pertinent information as to why (cannibal, assassin, etc).
7
Death can be negotiated
If you are the one that killed someone, please keep in mind that PvP should be fun for both sides. If someone really does not want their character to die, please respect that and allow them to revive and RP severe injuries.
8
Death has 4 options
If you are killed, you have 4 options:
(Deceased, Null, Deescalate, Recovered/Captured)
Deceased - Your character is officially dead and you must respawn as a new person with no prior knowledge of what happened in your past life.
Null - With ample evidence, your death was voided. You may respawn as your character.
De-escalate - You were "critically injured" and rushed back home. PVP involving you is not to continue with a cooldown of a week after respawn. You cannot seek revenge or metagame in any fashion.
Recovered/Captured - if a friendly or enemy player secures your body after encounter you can respawn (ask an admin for tp) on your body if the nearby player offers to help/capture your character
9
Allow for responses in combat
Not all players are fast typers. If in combat, allow for someone to respond adequately before agressing further. If someone surrenders, allow them the opportunity at life. Players may be allowed to flee the scene so long as they roleplay (/me) the action before running.
10
Vehicles are protected via claims
So long as a vehicle has a claim note in the glove compartment, that vehicle is protected and is to not be tampered with. If a vehicle has loot but no note, that vehicle is fair game.
11
Raids must be requested through ticket
You must submit a raid request if you wish to steal or attack any settlement. Offline raiding to specifically place a "listening device", blackmail/threats, spying, or stalking is allowed. Further raiding must require the opposing party online and a request to be submitted. (Canceled out if in faction war)
12
All doors are to be "locked" through RP
Doors/gates of players are to be considered RP locked. This must be dealt with during raids. Either by RP breaking open the lock or with a tool (ie breaching tools).
13
Only 1 dufflebag of loot per raider
You are allowed to fill a single duffle bag per person when raiding for loot.
14
Raiders will always leave behind clues
You will leave behind clues for the raided party to investigate. Clues will be generated by mods and can include tire track details, hair/fur, scents, car paint if you crash, etc.
15
Unclaimed locations are always free game
unclaimed safehouses are free game and do not require a ticket to loot or capture.
16
Faction wars will be discussed at a meeting
When a request for war is submitted, group leaders and admins can sit together and discuss custom rulesets while the war is in effect. Things like KOS, drive-bys, sniping, destruction, and bombings can be discussed in the meeting. Players not participating in this war cannot join in the same ruleset and will be punished if attempted.
16
All military installations follow Tarcovian Rule
The Tarcovian Rule: Any location that has, is, or supports millitary assets is to always be considered KOS PVP Enabled at all times. The goal is for people to have high risk and high reward for entering these locations. The surrounding areas outside by a 10 tile radius are subject to the same ruling.
All rules set are there for a reason, but we understand that it can get confusing with how many there are. Here's a few key points to better familiarize yourself on how things work in our server.
1
Death is case by case
Death is not permanent unless you have died with a request ticket filled out, in a public event/dungeon, or base raid. This is to allow and help new players gain a foothold and learn from their mistakes.
2
Player vehicles have protection
Any car is free game UNLESS there is a note in the glove compartment and/or anywhere else on the car that shows the car is owned by a player. (If a car is armored, its more than likely a players) Examples of note titles:
- PROPERTY OF ___ FACTION
- XOCHI'S PERSONAL BIKE
- DINGO'S CAR
3
Military Locations are KOS PVP enabled
Military bases should be treated like a location in Escape From Tarkov. You enter to loot and understand that KOS is allowed within its perimeters. You must extract back out of those locations to return to the safety of the wilderness, unless the fight continues outside of the bases.
(NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT CONSIDERED CHARACTER DEATH. Like EFT, you lose what's on you if you respawn but can go back and retrieve it when ready)
4
Hoarding is a raidable offense
Players found in possession of too much loot of any type will be raided by admins. RP details will be added as to not lose immersion. Players in possession of a safehouse much larger than they can handle will cause a hoard to eventually overrun the place until it is abandoned. (ie. One person cannot safely hold a warehouse on their own)
5
Incapacitation can still be saved
If you are "critically injured" (killed in-game), so long as another player with level 3 medic or higher is in your team and at your body, you can request for that player to "watch over you" and you will be able to respawn and wake up (get teleported back) so long as its not in a military base or public event.
In-game unconscious (through the mod) is handled differently and skills will be lost when revived.
